Southern Sauteed Shrimp

Ingredients:

3 tbsps butter
1 pound cleaned shrimp, uncooked
2 tbsps minced garlic
1/4 ranch dressing, any flavor.

Directions:

Be sure the shrimp are thawed and cleaned, meaning deveined and shelled before beginning to cook them. In a skillet, on medium heat, melt 1 tbsp of the butter to avoid sticking and add the shrimp. Allow them to cook for 2-3 minutes to allow the extra "broth" to cook out before you add any other ingredients to avoid the liquid washing out the flavor. Drain the shrimp into a strainer until there is no more extra juice. Add the remaining 2 tbsps of butter and the garlic to the pan. Once the butter is melted, return the shrimp to the pan. Allow them to cook for 4-5 minutes, stirring often (you may have to turn the heat up to medium high if they are not sautéing properly, the pan should be making a sizzling sound and browning the shrimp). Remove the shrimp from the pan and drain onto a paper towel to eliminate any remaining grease or liquid. Serve hot!

*Rule of Thumb: Uncooked shrimp are generally grey in color. When they cook, they turn pink or red colored. Usually if the meat is white with pink veins, it is cooked. Because they are small, they do not take long to cook. Pay attention to the doneness, otherwise you could overcook them quickly. It always helps to taste test while you cook :)
